The Information Technology Association of Jordan – int@j announced a new membership category for startup companies in the ICT sector to support companies and engage all relevant stakeholders in the development of the sector.
Under the new startups membership category, companies will get a one year free membership, 50% discount over the second year, and the regular membership fees for the third year as companies develop and mature.
Mr. Aiman Mazahreh, Chairman of int@j indicated “The goal of establishing a new model for ICT startup companies membership is to support new companies and engage everyone in the developing the sector, which will reflect back positively on all parties in the sector and Jordan’s ICT position in the region and globally”, he also added “Startup companies will be able to benefit from all of int@j services and projects to develop its members and the sector”.
int@j, is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry-support association, founded in 2000 with the aim to improve the dynamics of Jordan's ICT market and develop the Kingdom's ICT related activities, and includes more than 175 local and global companies working in IT, Telecom, e-Content, and IT enabled services (Outsourcing).
It’s also worth mentioning that the ICT Sector in Jordan includes more than 400 working companies according to the latest ISIC classification established by int@j and MoICT recently with support from the USAID Jordan Economic Development Program – SABEQ.
Serving members to support their growth and continuous development is at the core of int@j’s mission and values, as the association determines its success by the degree of positive impacts it generates for members in specific and for the ICT and ICTES sectors in general.
The list of int@j’s services grows long as each member organization is served to satisfy its specific needs. Yet, and generally speaking, the association’s services include advocacy on key existing and emerging legislative challenges, and advocates for favorable solutions with the appropriate decision and policy makers.
int@j services also include exploring new markets and creating business opportunities for members through continuously promoting and strengthening relations between the ICT & ITES sectors and emerging industries such as health, education, and banking.
Furthermore, capacity building of human resources is a key development area in int@j as it remains the ICT and ICTES sectors’ most critical assets and competitive advantage. int@j also supports continuous capacity development projects for its members in par with latest global developments and trends.
Int@j is also leading the National ICT Strategy implementation in close partnership with the Ministry of ICT and other stakeholders aiming to increase sector revenue to $3 billion, increase internet penetration to 50%, and employment to 35,000.
