Under the Patronage of the Minister of ICT Int@j supported by USAID graduates participants in iPhone applications development training

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of ICT Mr. Marwan Juma'a, int@j  and with the support of USAID Jordan a graduation ceremony was conducted for the developers and managers of content providers companies who successfully completed the iPhone applications development training. The ceremony was held at SAE Premises in Al Quds College, and attended by H.E. the Minister of ICT Mr. Marwan Juma'a, Int@j CEO, Al Quds College CEO, USAID Jordan representative, training participants and guests.
  
The Information Technology Association of Jordan - int@j completed the first of its kind iPhone applications development training in Jordan. The training was provided by SAE- Amman and supported by USAID Jordan Economic Development Program.

The training included two phases; Training for developers designed to improve the ability of content providers to develop iPhone applications and learn new methods and tools for developing smart phone applications. The second phase focused on training for managers designed to understand financing aspects and payment system through the Apple applications store.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, His Excellency Minister of ICT Mr. Marwan Juma'a said: "this training comes to illustrate Jordan's keen interest to acquire new technology trends to enhance the performance of businesses in this vital sector.  H.E. also added that the Ministry's future ICT Academy will work to bridge the skills gap between university graduates and the sector needs and requirements.

Dr. Ruba Jaradat from USAID commented "USAID strongly believes that sustained prosperity will come through innovative approaches taken in targeted and strategic sectors.  Today we are celebrating one such initiative that will spawn innovation, enhance creativity, and further establish Jordan's ability to provide digital content and applications that are in demand throughout the region and the world".   

Int@j CEO defined int@j members as the main beneficiaries of this training which supports the e-content sector and enhances Jordan's position in this field.  He added that the partnership between Int@j, the Ministry of ICT, SAE Amman, and USAID Jordan, comes to support the ICT sector and to enhance Jordan's leading position in the area of mobile applications and content development.

int@j, is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and IT Enabled Services (ITES) industry-support association, founded in 2000 with the aim to improve the dynamics of Jordan's ICT market and develop the Kingdom's ICT related activities. The Association includes more than 180 local and global companies working in IT, Telecom, and IT enabled services (Outsourcing).
